Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies this website uses, why, and how to control them.
Last updated: 30 August 2026
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the website altebio.com (the “Site”) uses, why they are needed and how you can control them. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks the browser to store. On the next visit the browser sends it back, so the site recognises the session. Related technologies — local storage in the browser — work in a similar way but keep the data only on your device.
2. What we use
We keep the set to a minimum: what the Site needs in order to work, plus anonymised visit statistics. We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting or building profiles, and we do not sell the data they generate. There is no cookie banner on the Site because no non-essential cookie is set until analytics is connected.
Strictly necessary
These cannot be switched off — without them the forms and the administration panel do not work.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| altebio_sess | Keeps the page session and protects the forms against cross-site request forgery | Until the browser is closed |
| altebio_lang (local storage) | Remembers the language version you chose | Until browser data is cleared |
Analytics
If web analytics is connected, its cookies collect anonymised statistics: which pages are opened, where visitors come from, which device they use. This helps us understand what is useful on the Site. The data is aggregated and is not used to identify you.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics: distinguishes visitors and sessions | Up to 2 years |
| _ym_uid, _ym_d and similar | Yandex Metrica: visit statistics | Up to 1 year |
These cookies are set by the analytics providers themselves and are governed by their own policies. Analytics runs only when the corresponding identifier is configured for the Site; if it is not, no analytics cookies are set.
Third-party resources
The fonts of the pages are loaded from Google Fonts. Requesting them transmits your IP address and browser details to that service, but no cookies of the Site are set as a result.
3. How to control cookies
Every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies — usually under Settings → Privacy. You can also open the Site in a private window, so that everything is deleted when it is closed. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will prevent the enquiry form from being submitted; the rest of the pages will keep working.
Instructions: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the official browser add-on.
4. Changes
When the set of cookies changes, we update this page and the date of the last update at the top.
